Used iPhone Ghana Buying Guide

Before buying a used iPhone in Accra Circle, Kumasi Adum, from a Jiji seller, or through a WhatsApp listing, slow the deal down and verify the phone in your own hands.

1. Confirm iCloud Is Fully Removed

Open Settings and confirm the seller is signed out of Apple ID. The safest test is a full reset and activation in front of you. If the phone cannot pass activation after reset, do not buy it.

2. Check Carrier Lock Before Payment

Go to Settings > General > About and look for Carrier Lock. It should say No SIM restrictions. Insert your own MTN, Telecel, or AT SIM card and test calls plus mobile data before paying.

3. Treat Perfect Battery Health With Suspicion

An older iPhone showing exactly 100% battery health may have a replaced or boosted battery reading. Check whether the phone heats up, drains quickly, or shows unknown battery parts in Settings.

4. Test Face ID, Camera, Speaker, and Charging

Register your own Face ID or Touch ID, record a short video with front and back cameras, make a call, play speaker audio, and plug in a charger. These failures can be expensive after purchase.

5. Do Not Send MoMo First

A low price plus a request for a holding deposit is a warning sign. Pay only after the phone has passed physical, iCloud, network, battery, and IMEI checks.

Use the 20-point checklist while testing
